Ashley Kelley, MS, LPC-S
I was born and raised in Northern Nevada and like many, found my way to Alaska and have made this my home. I began my education journey in criminal justice and branched out to psychology and behavioral health blending my two interests. This led me to working with kids in residential treatment and I recognized how important mental health was, particularly at a young age. I expanded my career and now work with all ages. I have helped facilitate and co-facilitate an intensive outpatient program (IOP). In addition, I am a clinician with the Fairbanks Mobile Crisis Team.
I believe therapy is a vital tool for mental health and overall well-being. It provides a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their emotions, confront deep-rooted issues, and begin the healing process. Through therapy, people can gain a better understanding of their emotional reactions and patterns, allowing for personal growth and development.
Therapy helps manage and reduce symptoms of mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and stress. It builds coping skills and resilience, empowering individuals to navigate life's challenges more effectively. Additionally, therapy offers professional guidance and support, enhancing self-awareness and encouraging positive life changes.
Overall, I am a firm believer therapy is essential for promoting emotional healing, growth, and empowerment, making it a crucial component of mental health care. You can grow through what you go through.
